Who we are
We are a small team of folks trying to support caregivers in their everyday effort to show up for their littles through imaginative and accessible play.

Greetings! I’m so grateful to be applying my knowledge and experience to optimizing how Nena can be a useful and efficient tool for caregivers. First and foremost, I am a mama and so blessed to be learning a lot from my child (it’s a journey!) This new era of life certainly teaches you how to slow down and be present. It’s not easy but it can be a nice change of pace from what we find in working society. I created Nena out of desire to re-imagine the “village” for today’s families and provide a resource that leverages technology to share knowledge about meaningful play and child development that would normally be passed down from grandparents, tias, and neighbors. I believe authentic relationships are at the root of a healthy child and the foundation for a healthy society. Nourishing one nourishes another and I believe Nena can help us rediscovery the beauty of connection.
On the technical front:
I received my bachelors in Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Child Learning and Development where my interest and research was focused on learning and memory. I completed my post-bacc at the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Phenotyping Service within the NIH. These experiences has provided me with a deep and diverse perspective of the incredible capacity to learn that we have as humans, especially babies and young children
Most recently, I transitioned out from my last business, Brown Girls Climb(BGC) where I worked collaboratively with a women of color across the nation to build a network of educational resources and foster community for rock climbers. BGC was a great example of how seemingly small efforts to support someone can lead to significant impacts which continues to influence how I work and contribute today.
To that end, I am excited to be collaborating with software engineers, therapists, educators and parents and other caregivers to create a meaningful tool at Nena. For questions, insights, or collaborations, please contact me here.
